Two modes, Focus and Learning

Hey Syllabee has two modes.

  • Focus

Need a word mid-email? Say it and get the spelling back in chunks you can type as you hear them.

  • Learning

Go deeper on tricky words. Each chunk is linked to something familiar, like MOS for moss, so you remember it next time.

Tap the mic, then say accommodate

How it works

Open the app, tap the mic and say the word. The app answers out loud, and on screen.

  1. 1. Say it

    Say any word out loud.

  2. 2. Hear it in chunks

It talks you through the chunks and the hook for each.

  3. 3. Remember it

Each chunk comes with a hook that makes it stick.

Questions

What’s the difference between Focus and Learning mode?

Focus gives you a quick, snappy answer: the spelling comes straight back in short chunks, then the word. Learning goes deeper with association: each chunk comes with a memory hook, so the word sticks.

Who is it for?

Anyone who finds spelling hard, wants to improve it, or is learning to spell in English, from school age through to adults. Younger children do best with a grown-up alongside.

Can I try it now?

The phones on this page are previews with a couple of example words. Hey Syllabee is still being built, and waitlist members get early access first.

When does it launch?

We’re building it now. Waitlist members get early access first, and we’ll email you as soon as spots open.

Is it free?

We expect to offer a free way to try it. Final pricing isn’t set yet, and everyone on the waitlist hears first.

What happens to my email?

We only use it to tell you about launch and early access. No spam, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. Our privacy policy has the details.

Can it help with dyslexia or spelling difficulties?

It’s built around short chunks, clear sounds and no pressure, so words are easier to hold onto than a string of letters. It’s a spelling tool, not a medical treatment or a replacement for specialist support.

Which accent and language?

We’re starting with English, with UK and US voices. More accents and languages may follow, and the waitlist helps us decide.
